A Highland bull, who didn't mind to seem me trying to get his attention by calling him 'kitty'

Blue penguins in Oamaru, crossing the road very cautiously

Bill Blair, coppice worker. you can see some of his beautiful handmade items here. Rumor has it he's making hobbit-sized baskets fora certain film.

RALPH! So Adorable and wily. Ridiculously so!

An angel made of ceramic tile at the Dunedin train station

Black swans off the Otago Penninsula

Mmmmm. Good eatin'. Big ol' pig near Mt. Somers

Solo time…

Once I got the Mystery Machine, I made my way clockwise around the South Island. Just like Captain Cook.

Over Hakataramea Pass

Central Otago, where my mom and uncle spent some of their childhood

Onward to the South Island

After the olive harvest, which took place north of Auckland on the North Island, I flew down with my aunt and uncle to Nelson on the South Island to help out my cousin Mark and his wife Heidi with then two-week-old bundle Josef.

Destination: New Zealand

Well, since I’ve left the States I’ve covered a lot of ground in New Zealand. Here’s a summary. I will fill in details in future posts.

First I went to the olive harvest, where I got to meet my new cousins (to me, since my last trip!) Finn and Benjamin.
